Organic Model

For my Organic model I create my own design, based on 1800 british infantry. Below is the blueprints for my design.

Inorganic

For my Inorganic model I choose ED-209 form RoboCop, first I created Blueprint for the model, leaving out an unnecessary detail.

Here is the final untexture ED-209 model, made in 3ds max with 8.933 ploys.

Toy Tin Robot

For this exercise I modelled a robot as accurately as I could to a image.
Ref: image obtianed from and all right to the image belong to: http://www.tintoyarcade.com/products/Mini-D-Robot-Classic-Tiny-Tin-Toy.html

Below is the final model of my toy tin robot
The head and body is one shape and the arms and the legs are seperate, this means I would be able to animate the robot easyier. I used the symetry moddifier so I only had to model one side also meaning there were no imperfections on the opposite side.

Basic modelling

I created three basic models using techniques such as extrude, bridge and chamfer. The three models I created were a US style mail box, a skip and a hammer, another method I use was changing smoothing group to create the look of a smooth surface when needed.

Low Ploy Stegosaurus

Another dinosaur I created as a low ploy model was a Stegosaurus. Which is shown below.

When Turbosmooth is applied to the mesh, the bony back plates become softer and rounder edged which does not visual represent the stegosaurus armour along it's back

To improve the look of the back plates and give it more contrast against the body, I used meshsmooth instead. This allows me to select the areas which I want to smooth, leaving other areas to stay angular.

I selected areas within edit poly. These red areas show where I want the model to be smoothed.

I apply the meshsmooth to the model, once appled I changed the meshsmooth parameters, by changing the subdivision method to classic and unticking the 'Apply to whole mesh' box. This gave me the desired effect.

Low Ploy Dinosaur models

Here are 3 low ploy dinosaur model I created in 3Ds Max.

Above is a render of the 3 dinosaurs without turbosmooth on.

This is what the same model look like with tubosmooth on. tubosmooth give the models a more organic look.
